ARTISTIC STATEMENT
There are dimensions that I wish to peer into. Places that are carved into the subconscious mind. My work builds vessels so that those places become closer in sight and sensation. This process of opening doors is always in relation to my black body and how it experiences the world. Will I always be political if my art is within blackness? A union of performance art, improvisational scoring, and contemporary dance. These avenues act as geneses for every door I attempt to open.
As an individual maker moving through the world with Borderline Personality Disorder I put emphasis on personal perception. When will yours and mine collide? Where is the critical moment that we notice the collision. Inside the building of my work these ideas are revaluated and added to.
